A horrific incident has shaken the nation, leaving many in a state of outrage and disgust. Sibusiso Lawrence is charting the headlines  for allegedly murdering his girlfriend and sharing gruesome images of her lifeless body on Facebook.

The disturbing posts, sparked widespread outrage and condemnation on social media. Many South Africans have expressed their shock, horror, and disgust at the heinous crime, with some calling for Lawrence to face the full might of the law.

Women for Change, a non-profit organization advocating for women’s rights and empowerment, has condemned  the subsequent sharing of the victim’s images online. The organization has called for respect and dignity to be accorded to the victim and her loved ones.

“This is not entertainment or something to be consumed casually on social media – it is the tragic reality of someone’s loved one, someone’s daughter, sister, mother or friend. Sharing such content not only disrespects the victim and their family but also contributes to further trauma for those affected, ” they said.

The organization has also called for one to report the content to help protect the victims memory and support their loved ones in this difficult time.
