UMkhonto WeSizwe Party Celebrates 1-Year Anniversary Amidst Growing Popularity
The UMkhonto WeSizwe Party, a relatively new player in South African politics, celebrated its 1-year anniversary.
The party’s national organiser, Floyd Shivambu, took to his X account and celebrated this milestone. He said, “Happy first birthday UMkhonto WeSizwe.”
The UMkhonto WeSizwe Party was formed last year by former president Jacob Zuma.
Since its formation, the UMkhonto WeSizwe Party has gained significant traction, attracting thousands of members and supporters across the country.
The party participated in the May 29 elections and amassed a, significant number of the votes.
Shivambu joined the MK Party in August after he ditched the EFF in a surprise act. He was then appointed the national organiser for the MK Party.
