Dr Matthew Lani took to TikTok to issue a heartfelt apology to South Africa. In his latest video, Dr. Lani admitted to misrepresenting himself and succumbing to the pressures of social media fame, also known as “clout.”
With a somber tone, Dr. Lani began his apology, expressing remorse for his past actions. He apologized to the HIV community and the rest of South Africa.
Dr. Lani explained that he got caught up in chasing clout and acknowledged that the apology was long overdue.
He said that Dr Matthew Lani had started off as a persona but quickly gained traction.
He said that he was truly sorry adding that he wanted to show people what accountability looked like. He thanked Mzansi for giving him citing that he was now back on social media and he had gained a lot of followers.
He was accused of impersonating a medical professional.
