The Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Gayton Mckenzie will not publish the names of people who have been receiving funds from the department as this needs to be discussed further. This was said by his spokesperson Cassidy Jacobs. This after Mckenzie tweeted, “I have instructed a list be published of all artists, creatives and sports people who have been receiving money from the department of sporys, arts and culture, including amounts and reasons. The time when only a select few benefits is over.”

Mckenzie went on to say,” If you did nothing wrong or didn’t benefit untowardly you have no reason to fear, i have given a clear instruction that the public be made aware of the people that got funding today! I was shocked when I realized how many complaining artist are receiving money from DSAC.” Jacobs said that Mckenzie still needed to meet with everyone for a lekgotla before anything else can be done.”

One can use his public tweets as a reference for now but officially on behalf of the department, he will not be committing yet until after the cabinet lekgotla. The Minister wants to release an official presser on this but it will wait until wll deliberations have been done. “

Mckenzie has been trending since he was sworn in as Minister. On Sunday, he shared that he would dedicate his salary to the Joshlin Smit Foundation for missing children which is in the final stages of registration.
