Bafana Mahungela charged with the murder of Kirsten Kluyts was denied bail by the Alexandra Regional Court on Friday after spending Christmas behind bars.
It is said that his representatives failed to prove he should be granted bail. His case has been postponed to January 19.
The body of Kirsten Kluyts was found on a path near Sandton Sports Club after she vanished while taking part in a MyRun event in Parkmore.
