USA based Nigerian promoter, Sedote Nwachukwu, who fled South Africa for the USA on Friday, has denied stealing R10 million from tickets, which was supposed to be used to pay for the venue and other suppliers.

Speaking to the Sunday Times newspaper, Nwachukwu blamed his business partner, Gregory Wings, whom he revealed was a convicted fraudster.

SNwachukwu told the newspaper that the Burna Boy show sold over 20 000 tickets. He claimed that Greg took 6 000 out of the 11 000 tickets that were sold by Ticketpro and sold them at clubs and campuses, and did not declare the cash.

Nwachukwu said Wings is not his business partner and he only brought him on board to handle invoices and paperwork for the Burna Boy concert as a way of giving him a second chance at life after Wings was released from prison where he served time for fraud.

Nwachukwu said he was fleeing South Africa at the advise of his lawyer.
