Is Former President Jacob Zuma Going Back to Prison

The Constitutional Court dismissed efforts by the Correctional Services Commissioner to appeal the SCA’s ruling that former President Jacob was unlawfully granted medical parole.

The SCA’s ruling that former President Jacob Zuma must return to the Estcourt prison stands.

Zuma handed himself over to the police in July 2021 after the court sentenced him to 15 months imprisonment for defying the Constitutional Court ruling compelling him to appear before the Zondo Commission.

He was later released on medical parole after serving a fraction of his sentence. The Democratic Alliance Party called for former President Jacob Zuma’s detention without delay.
