Energy Crisis: Eskom Implements Stage 5 Load Shedding

The South African power utility Eskom has been forced to implement stage 5 load shedding. This comes after the breakdown of five generating units.

The power utility lost a combined capacity of 2400 megawatts after the five units failed. Another 16 597 megawatts of capacity is unavailable due to breakdowns.
