Former Isibaya actress Asavela Mngqithi said black people are getting poorer because they spend a lot of money on funerals.

She said funerals should be a family affair with just small people to feed. The actress said funerals are a waste of money.

Families, extended families, friends, neighbours and people from the church would gather for days or a week when there is a funeral.
