SABC NEWS reported that Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi has hit back at Helen Suzman Foundation following their bid to challenge the scrapping of the Zimbabwe Exemption Permit.
Thousands of Zimbabweans have permits that expire in December which will make them undocumented migrants if they continue to stay in South Africa.
The department said organisations’ challenge is a perfect example of a destructive role that some non governmental organisations are capable of.
Motsoaledi blasted the Suzman Foundation saying South Africa was following all protocols. He said the Foundation is making it look like the government is being inhumane.
The Minister added that all 178 000 Zimbabweans with such permits were told via emails and messages the reasons why the Permits were ending and how they could get a normal permit.
