Former Johannesburg Mayor Mpho Moerane passed away yesterday at Milpark hospital in Johannesburg.
Moerane was badly injured on Monday last week after being involved in an incident that landed him in the Intensive care unit.
The accident occurred near Gallo Manor, a luxury complex in Morningside Manor, Sandton.
The former Mayor was travelling from Alexandra, and he was alone when the accident occurred. Moerane hit a rock that led to the car crash.

Unfortunately despite being under maximum medical care, Moerane passed on due to his serious injuries.
Mpo Moerane was elected Mayor following the passing of Jolidee Matongo who also died in a car crash.
