Malawian prophet Shepherd Bushiri fled South Africa along with his wife Mary Bushiri where they are facing charges of corruption, theft and money laundering.
Bushiri is the founder of one of the largest churches in Africa. Enlightened Christian Gathering is headquartered in Pretoria, South Africa.
It has other branches in several other African countries. Congregates of ECG gave hundreds of thousands of rands in tithes to Bushiri.
During an episode of Amabishop on Moja Love a woman revealed that she gave R300 000 as tithe money to Bushiri.
This after the Prophet convinced people by pointing at a man in the church and said the man had paid R500 000 as tithe to the church.
Another prophet who spoke during the episode said the lady is a victim of spiritual spell.
He said the likes of Bushiri convinced their followers to borrow tithe money if they do not have at that particular time.
