Rivers of Living Waters Church leaders Bishop Stephen Zondo’s r_@pe and s_€xua-l offence trial has been postponed to July 2022. Proceedings of the matter will continue on the 18th of July 2022.
This was after the prosecution only managed to call two of its 26 witnesses cited in the indictment. One victim, a woman who claimed that Zondo r-@ped her on three occasions concluded giving her evidence.
Earlier Bishop Zondo pleaded not guilty to 10 charges. Eight of these charges are connected to r_@pe.
The first complaint and her brother revealed that the incident happened about 40 years ago. Zondo’s defence questioned why they remained silent. They believe that the two want to extort money from Zondo.
The alleged victim said she was just 7 years old when the abuse happened and was afraid of Zondo. The Bishop denied ever touching the woman and said the woman and her family wanted R1 million from him.
