Its been 29 years since Leleti Khumalo played the role of Sarafina on Sarafina but she made it seem as if it was yesterday.
Though she looks older she did the dance steps and chanted the same way she did when she was still a teenager with much vigour and passion.
In commemoration of the 16th of June the cast of Imbewu: The Seed donned on school uniforms and did a dance routine to Freedom is coming from Sarafina led by Leleti.
They then issued a challenge for others to do the same to honour the youths who died fighting segregation in schools.

The Minister of Transport Fikile Mbalula took to Twitter to commend the cast’s efforts saying the team of Imbewu: The Seed had done something phenomenal to commemorate the youth of 1976.
