In the past weeks Bishop Makamu made headlines when a voice recording in which he was heard making s_exual advances to a young lady surfaced online.
A case of s_exual assault was opened against Bishop Makamu at Midrand Police station. Makamu was arrested and appeared in the Palmridge Magistrate court a week later.
He was later released on R2000 bail. In a twist of events the woman who accused him is said to have approached the courts in order to have the case withdrawn.
The National Prosecuting Authority confirmed that the family had been in touch and the complainant was no longer interested in pursuing the case.

Sources said the family decided to withdraw the case following a meeting with Bishop Makamu, his wife and his legal team.
