The Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini’s passing has cast the Royal family into chaos that seems to never end.
This has been exacerbated by the passing of his wife Queen Mantfombi Dlamini who was serving as the regent. The Queen’s death is rumoured to have been caused by poisoning.
An official statement is yet to be issued denying or confirming these rumours. The King’s first wife and her two daughters are said to be challenging the will and are alleging that it was forged. The Will is currently in the hands of a family lawyer.
Due to their suspicion they are taking the matter to court to interdict its execution. Their mother Queen Sibongile Dlamini has taken to court to stop the next King’s coronation.
She also wants to be recognised as the sole legal wife of the late Zulu King. All this drama points to a succession battle over the Zulu throne and the King’s wealth.
