The Zulu Royal family has just announced the death of King Zwelithini ‘s Wife, Queen Mantofombi Dlamini Zulu.
She is the mother of Prince Misuzulu, who is next in line to take over as the Zulu King.
The statement was delivered by the traditional Prime Minister, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi who said:
It is with deepest shock and distress that the royal family announces the unexpected passing of Her Majesty Queen, Queen Mantofombi Dlamini Zulu, regent of the Zulu Nation.
The family was taken by surprise and left utterly bereft.
It is true that the Lord alone knows the days that he has allotted to each of us.
On behalf of the royal family, I wish to assure the nation that whilst we are all rightly grief stricken there will be no leadership vacuum in this nation.
Further announcements on Her Majesty’s funeral, and the necessary arrangements will be made in due course.
May her Majesty’s soul rest in peace.
