Last year tensions between South Africa and Malawi flared up when Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary fled South Africa for Malawi.
The couple was arrested for corruption, money laundering and theft. So far two vehicles belonging to Bushiri’s were seized at Beitbridge border post while they were being smuggled to Malawi.
The trustees tasked by the High Court to attach Bushiri’s assets have not been able to attach some of the expensive vehicles or removable assets.
However several of Bushiri’s properties have so far been attached. His hotel in Magaliesburg and the Sparkling Waters hotel and spa.
The deputy sheriff of Kempton Park also attached Bushiri’s properties and house in Gauteng.
Now the trustees are gunning for Bushiri’s gulf stream private jet which is currently being held at the Lanseria international airport.
