The Daily sun newspaper reports that, Nathi Tsutsu, the wife of 2016 Comrades Marathon winner, David Gatebe, has obtained a protection order against him after he assaulted her on multiple occassions.
Tsutsu and Gatebe got married in 2019 after they met at a sporting event in 2017.
Tsutsu told the Daily Sun that they were madly in love until Gatebe started cheating on her with an unnamed woman in early 2020.
She says Gatebe would receive text messages and calls from the woman in her presence and he became a monster.
In July, she says Gatebe started assaulting her. Tsutsu said sometimes Gatebe would lock her out of the house, and she had to sleep in her car.
Tsitsi says Gatebe accused her of Witchcraft and took her prayer candles and would leave home for days without explaining where he was. He would also tell their neighbors that she was a witch.
Police in North West confimed that two cases have been opened against Gatebe, one for assault and another for violation of a protection order.
