Obani Lababantu hit maker Nkosingiphile Olpha Selepe who is popularly known as Gee Six Five has finally been laid to rest.
Her funeral took place in New Castle yesterday. All Covid-19 protocols were observed at the funeral proceedings.
Gee Six Five rose to stardom after defying all odds and went on to release the smash Amapiano hit Obani Lababantu.
The single won the hearts of so many people, although she had her 2 minutes of fame, South Africa loved her. Her passing sent shock waves across Mzansi.
Many described her as a fearless person who always followed her dreams. Before her passing, Gee Six Five encouraged people not to be afraid to follow their talents.
Gee Six Five passed away after receiving a positive diagnosis of Coronavirus last week on Monday. She was on isolation at home but sadly she could not make it.
The 65 year old retired teacher had an illustrious career as she had a teaching stint in the United Kingdom and at the time of her death she was pursuing a Doctoral Degree.
Before her passing media personality Somizi Mhlongo had expressed his intentions of working with her.
Gee Six Five lived her dream, she had made her song come through, May Her Soul Rest in Eternal Peace.
