A key witness in the Senzo Meyiwa’s case whose testimony contributed to the arrest of five suspects passed away of suspected poisoning.
In 2014 Thabang Makheleni was a student living in Volsoorus not far from Kelly Khumalo’s mother’s house. He was poisoned late last year a few months after he gave his side of the story to investigators.
Thabang allegedly told the police that five people had showed up at Kelly Khumalo’s mother’s house the night Senzo Meyiwa was shot dead.
According to his affidavits it is indicated that Thabang told the police that two men had entered the house whilst the other was at the gate the other two waited in the cars, a VW Polo and an Audi.
National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson confirmed that a witness in the Senzo Meyiwa’s case passed away from poisoning, he said the matter is being investigated by the Gauteng Provincial police.
