The Sowetan reports that popular gospel show presenter, Rev. Lefa Pheto has been fired by the SABC Radio Station, Lesedi FM.
The SABC confirmed that Pheto was fired after an internal investigation. Pheto presents the popular show, Thoriso, that is broadcast from 9pm to 11pm on Sundays on Lesedi FM.
Pheto is accused of using the Lesedi FM logo to promote his private events without the permission of the SABC.
On July 8, the SABC informed Pheto that he was being investigated. This after Pheto used the Lesedi FM logo while promoting Tlholo Victory Financial Services prayer sessions that he held at various municipalities.
Pheto told the Sowetan that the matter was brought to rest under the previous manager, Motaung, but has been revived under the acting manager, Mosolodi Mohapi.
He said tensions started rising after his show was moved from 7:30pm to 11pm slot to the 9pm to 11pm slot.
Pheto said he was also instructed to stop preaching on the show, something that was very popular with the listeners.
