Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has called for the immediate shutting down of the Zimbabwean Embassy in South Africa.
His demands came as he tries to pressure the Zimbabwean government to respect human rights. Malema posted on his Twitter account following the #ZimbabweanLivesMatter campaign. He wrote:
“We call for the removal of the Zimbabwean Embassy in SA until they restore the human rights in that country. Failure to do so, we will prevent any official from the Zimbabwean government participating in any gathering in SA until they respect ordinary Zimbabweans.”
The #ZimbabweanLivesMatter came after human rights activists were arrested for engaging in a march that happened on the 31st of July.
The march was an anti government demonstration against high levels of corruption within the Zimbabwean government.
