Black Is King is an upcoming film and visual album directed, written and produced by American songstress Beyonce.
Beyonce, Pharrell Williams and Kelly Rowland are also part of the cast.
Among the African cast who featured on Beyonce’s new movie is Somizi’s mother, the late actress Mary Twala.
Mary Twala passed-on on the 4th of July 2020. Her death left a void in the entertainment industry. Mary played a Sangoma in the movie and this was her last biggest gig.
Somizi Mhlongo took to Instagram and shared the trailer of the movie, Black Is King. In the trailer, Mary Twala could be seen performing her role as a sangoma.
The video was captioned, “I remember MAMA….. SHE LIVES IN ME.”
Other South African actors who featured in the movie had something to say about Mary. Actress Nandi Madida said, “What an honour working with her on this project..forever inspired.”
