Sad News For Skeem Saam Lovers – Koko Mantsha Will Be Missed

Koko Mantsha has been with Skeem Saam since the soapie started in 2011. The veteran actress Lydia Mokgokoloshi is taking a break from acting.

The show told the Sowetan that she will be appearing less than before as she is still part of the show. Last Friday fans were left wondering if they will ever see her or if she was really leaving for good.

The storyline is based on Koko Mantsha leaving Turfloop in Limpopo where the show is based and will be going to her rural home to rest and spend time with her brother.

Skeem Saam spokesperson Sumaya Magola said Koko Mantsha will still be in and out of the story and will not be shooting as much as she used to do. Koko Mantsha is turning 81 years old this year.

Magola also said Koko Mantsha is at a very sensitive age thus she needs as much rest, care and comfort as much as possible.

The decision of her leaving the show was taken before Covid-19 was recorded in South Africa, so the decision on her departure is not based on the outbreak of the virus.
